ADIP werd in 1997 door instructeurs afkomstig uit verschillende organisaties gecreëerd (IDEA, PADI, NAUI, CMAS,…).


Het doel van deze organisatie was de veiligheidsstandaarden betreffende de onderwaterduik te versterken.


Na door VVW (Nederlandstalig Lid van CEDIP) contact opgenomen te worden, heeft laatstgenoemde ons dus voorgesteld om het deel
francophone van België te worden.


In 1998 is ADIP een lid van CEDIP geworden (Comité Européen Des Instructeurs van Plongée professioneel).
